Key person
We believe that children settle best when they have a key person to relate to, who knows them and their parents well, and who can meet their individual needs. Research shows that a key person approach benefits the child, the parents, the staff and the Pre-School by providing secure relationships in which children thrive, parents have confidence, staff are committed and the setting is a happy and dedicated place to attend or work in.
When your child starts Pre-School a member of staff will be introduced to you as your child’s key worker and will be your main contact for exchange of information. This person is directly responsible for observing your child throughout their time with us and then updating their achievements and Learning Journals. This ensures personal attention to the needs and development of each individual child and family.
Furthermore, our key person system ensures that they key person is in a position to tailor the curriculum to suit the individual needs of each child. Each key person encourages all parents and carers to forge special working partnerships with all staff; this helps them to get an invaluable in depth, insight in the progress that their child is making.
