Parks and Play Areas
We have eight parks in the Parish, all owned and maintained to a high standard by Great Aycliffe Town Council.
The Town Park and St Oswald’s Park have staff in attendance on a daily basis to maintain the grounds, while our Parks Patrol Service monitors all parks during the day, evening and at weekends to ensure that our facilities provide an enjoyable and safe visit.
All the play equipment is modern, challenging and well maintained. Each play area has a safety surface suitable for the equipment installed in that area.
Most of the play areas are fenced and have separate areas for toddlers and teens, with accessible equipment for all abilities.
Each year, the Town Council organise a series of ‘Fun in the Parks’ events for families, with free activities for the children. Entertainment varies and can include small fairground rides, live entertainment and performers.
