Santa Tours
An iconic event of the Town and the most popular event organised by Great Aycliffe Town Council is our Santa Tours.
On a very busy Christmas Eve we are lucky to have Santa tour the streets of our lovely town with his team of driver and navigator, to keep him on track. They stop in as many streets as possible to dispense Christmas cheer for children (of all ages!) Santa checks that children have been behaving during the year and he promises to see if he can bring them a gift from their wish list.
Santa does have a schedule which shows the approximate times you can expect him at your location. Please note that Santa can be held up by bad weather and may be late or sometimes even early. Santa has also asked that you congregate at locations that are easy for him to access on his sleigh, as on Christmas Eve some streets can be too narrow to enter due to parked cars.
The routes and approximate times can be found on the page above, they are posted on our Facebook page and are also printed in the Newton News.
Don’t want to miss Santa? Keep an eye out on the time, there will be live updates on our Facebook page and listen out for the Christmas music and bells from 3:45pm.
We would like to thank all the volunteers who make this event possible and J & C Coaches, Aycliffe Fabrications, Sabre Rail, Ashcourt Skip Hire, Gardner’s Yard, Ferryhill Town Council and Shildon Town Council for the loan of their vehicles.
We would like to thank our sponsors for the 2023 event:
