Coronation Big Lunch

Thank you to everyone who attended the Coronation Big Lunch, it was marked in style on Sunday 7th May 2023 with a community event, organised by Great Aycliffe Town Council.

The event took place at the Town Park, many people came to commemorate this historic moment, even though the weather was typically British. Residents brought their picnics, blankets, deckchairs and flags and settled back for an afternoon of entertainment which was kicked off in style by the Children from the Shine Choir who entertained the audience with their rendition of many popular songs, before local singer Jenna Highfield took to the stage to perform more classic hits, then Aycliffe and Brancepeth Brass band played many classical tunes. Newton Aycliffe Pipe Band brought a spirit of Scotland to this event.
